Working with extreme amount of light can cause eye damage. Too dim and too bright are not good for your eyes. During sunny days, keep your Venetian blinds down and turn off your household lights. The recommended lighting when you work with a computer is a desk light, from the side. Also, you can adjust the brightness of your monitor. The resolution might not be great, but your eyes will feel good at the end of the day.
